transport

Qasbaum considers all ordinary transport conditions, unlike the US house movers. The transition between two phases implies both components first, and than modules, to be transported.

XLAM panels are the most outsized elements in the “assembly kit”. To ensure a complete transportability of each element, Qasbaum avoids to use panels dimensioned like a whole wall, because a standard wall height would exceed the maximum containers’ dimension.

If in an standard XLAM application, the rule “one-wall-one-piece” ensures best performances for static buildings and on site time efficiency, Qasbaum achieves the best performances taking into account the whole box-shaped structure, not just the single component. For this reason, all components are designed to be transported by containers, breaking into different parts the oversized elements. Thus, we can imagine a path combining train and boat, from the manufacture to the assembly point.

The total transportability of all preassembled components by container, is an essential precondition in the Qasbaum project: it allows to set an assembly point virtually everywhere in the world, supplying the highest quality components at the lowest transportation cost.

If we can decide to place the assembly point near a transport hub, the site locations’ depend on the market needs. For this reason, Qasbaum is designed to ensure modules’ transport by trucks. Consequently, each module’s profile doesn’t exceed 12,50 meters long, 2,50 wide and 3,20 height.
